Cleaning the hood is one of the most distressing tasks for the effort involved, so from La Mar de Net, we propose a method that will greatly simplify the work.
Before beginning you must keep in mind that you need to use gloves during the process and avoid using scouring pad as this may scratch the hood.
The first thing to do is put a pot with 2 liters of water and juice of three lemons to boil. Should be left about 15 to 20 minutes with the hood turned to steam coat well. Then disconnect the hood and remove the outer fat with kitchen paper, which will be very easy thanks to the steam. After you have to get all removable parts and leave them to soak in a little degreaser and hot water.
With a cloth moistened with water and a little degreaser, go over the inland areas of the hood, with special care not to damage any part of the engine. You can use a brush to reach the most difficult areas.
If the filter is made of felt we can hand wash and let it dry. If it is made of coal or paper then it must be replaced, and if it is made of metal you need to wash it with warm water and a little detergent.
Finally, the last thing to do will be drying all parts and passing a cloth slightly dampened by the whole hood. When it has dried, we put the parts and the hood will look like brand-new.
